Better,Sick, and Buried Alive?

OK On the better part. I got my shot in the knee and it feels great again. And I finally got the doc to admit that it is time to scope my knee. So I did a nice 5 miler on Sat.(Mike-Speed was rocking that day).

Now onto the sick part. I was about 50deg. and raining on my run Sat. So when I got home I was not feeling good. I ended up taking a nap and when I woke up my ears were muffled and my nose was dripping into my throat. Great now I have an ear infection and post nasal drip. I am going to the doctors this afternoon to get meds. so I can get better.

And last Buried Alive. My Step-Father was buried alive the weekend before Christmas. He is a foreman for an excavation company and works right beside his workers. He was in a 9 foot deep trench connecting a water line when the walls collapsed on him. He was able to get his hand above his head and dig an opening so he could get air. What makes it worse is that when the dirt fell the weight of it popped his knee out of its socket. So here he is digging for his life and has his knee pops out. So what did he do? He popped it back in while he was digging. If you saw him you would understand why he survived. He is only about 5'6" but is built like a tank. Oh yeah one more thing to this tale. Since they only had that day to finish the job. They dug out the trench and he jumped back in there and finished what he started. Mental Yes, And Inspiration ABSOLUTELY. That's all. Bad times in the North East

Hey guys it's been a while since my last post. Things here have been bad. For starters I have to get another shot of cortisone in my knee. The pain is back. I have been limited to only 2.5 miles outside then I finish up on the bike at the gym. Now because regulators have ruined our country that recession thing has finally hit the company I work for. We just had to lay off 10( 62 down to 52) people and everyone else who made it had to take a big pay cut. When we get back from Disney I will probably have to get a second job. And on top of that our Governor just released his 09 budget and he wants to raise taxes! So because of all this on my mind I forgot it was my fathers birthday on wed. Nothing like calling your father a day late and trying to explain to him why you are wishing him happy birthday a day late. Yeah I feel like scum. That's it. I hope everyone else is having a better week.

It's snowing!!!!

Yeah it's snowing outside today. And it's not that light fluffy stuff either. Nope it's wet snow. And yes I ran in it today. Did 5 miles before my wife had to leave for work. I was very tired during my run today. It could have been I had on more layers then I normally do. Tried a chocolate Power Bar gel . It tasted just like frosting and I was able to keep it down. I think if it was hot out and I used one of those then I might see it again. After my run I went to the gym to work on my upper body and did another 6.03 miles on the bike. One thing did happen on my run that I will have to keep a close eye on. My left knee started to hurt today for about a min. The same knee I had all those problems with. I iced it when I got home and I do not have any pain in it right now, but I am a little worried. If it happens again I will have another cortisone shot before we leave for the Half. So who has 2 thumbs and is excited about the race. This guy! OK so it works better in person. Well guys I think that's about it. Hope everyone is happy and healthy.

OK let start off by saying this months training so far has sucked. Why might you ask? Well it's car trouble all over again and this time it's our dependable minivan that we are driving down to Florida in. First the water pump blew. That just cost us $400. And now that's fixed the radiator cap and the radiator itself blew. Oh yeah and the second one happened as I was leaving the mechanics shop! I know it was not the mechanic sabotaging me. He grew up with my brother and is a friend of the family. So I just got the call as to how much this is going to cost. You guessed it another $400! :( So now I am praying that nothing else happens to it. I really want to rip all my hair out and just scream. But that's why I have running. Now gym either. My DD has been sick all week and they have a no sick kids policy at the gym's daycare. So I got in only 2.28 miles before I had to drive my wife to work. How did our Grandparents do it with only one vehicle? OK I will save the rest for Rant Fest! See ya!
